Nanzala Mayabi

Nanzala is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, governance, dispute resolution, and infrastructure projects.

She has served in key leadership roles, including as a Non-Executive Director at the Centre for Mathematics, Science & Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA), where she chairs the Strategy, Planning, and Development Committee, and previously as a Non-Executive Director at the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA),

where she chaired the Audit and Governance Committee. Her board-level roles have involved strategic oversight, risk management, policy development, and governance.

Nanzala’s expertise spans commercial and corporate law, governance and compliance, intellectual property, real estate, project finance, and cross-border transactions. Her experience includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and corporate restructuring. She has been involved in high-value transactions, including advising the Government of Kenya on the KShs. 50 billion Medical Equipment Services (MES) project—the largest health sector Public-Private Partnership (PPP) deal in Africa.

As a legal practitioner, she has successfully handled litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution, representing high-net-worth clients and corporations in complex legal matters. She has also contributed to legislative drafting, governance audits for state corporations, and due diligence exercises for corporate acquisitions.

Nanzala is currently pursuing an MBA in Strategic Management at Strathmore Business School to enhance her leadership and governance expertise. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Law Society of Kenya, and the East Africa Law Society.
